  1. Go into Edit Mode.
  2. Select the messy part of the mesh or just one face.
  3. Press P to separate the selection.
  4. Switch to Object Mode and select the separated mesh.
  5. Use boundary aligned remesh to recalculate a new triangle mesh (boundary verts will be saved to get a good welding with the source mesh)

How do you Remesh in blender?
