How do you tell what model a trumpet is?
If you can’t find the brand on the bell, look at where you connect the mouthpiece to the trumpet. That’s called the mouthpiece receiver, and you might find the trumpet brand there. Sometimes, you can also find the model number next to the brand engraving.

Where are Eastman trumpets made?
Eastman Trumpets are made in China and their earlier models did have some issues. The quality was not consistent across the production batches. Today, however, the Eastman company has fixed the issues and the quality is good.

How much does a decent trumpet cost?
Beginner trumpets usually range in cost from $400 to $1,200. Intermediate, or step-up trumpets usually range in cost $1,200 to $2,300 and entry level pro trumpets (still largely played by advanced students) around $2,400 and up.
Is it OK to buy a used trumpet?
In many cases, purchasing a previously owned trumpet is fine, as long as the previous owner took good care of the instrument. When purchasing a refurbished or like-new trumpet, make sure it’s in good condition.
