October 1, Trusted Travelers Take Note. Effective October 1, 2017, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is replacing the GOES (global online enrollment system) website with the new cloud based Trusted Traveler Program (TTP) system website.
What is goes trusted traveler program?
The Trusted Traveler Programs (Global Entry, TSA PreCheck®, SENTRI, NEXUS, and FAST) are risk-based programs to facilitate the entry of pre-approved travelers. All applicants are vetted to ensure that they meet the qualifications for the program to which they are applying.
How much is Global Entry fee?
A $100
A $100 one-time fee is required with your Global Entry application and must be paid at time of application submission through the Trusted Traveler Program (TTP) System. You can pay by credit card or through an electronic bank transfer. The fee is non-refundable, even if an application is denied.
How long does it take to get approved for Global Entry?
How long does the Global Entry application and approval process take? From filling out the application to conditional approval to the interview and receiving your Global Entry Card in the mail, the process can take as little as a few weeks to as long as six months.
How much does trusted traveler program cost?
Initial TSA PreCheck® enrollment costs $85 and Global Entry costs $100 for a five year membership. Travelers interested in Global Entry must apply through the Trusted Traveler Program website. Global Entry, NEXUS, and SENTRI are programs of U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
What disqualifies you from getting Global Entry?
You may not be eligible for participation in the Global Entry program if you: Provide false or incomplete information on the application; Have been convicted of any criminal offense or have pending criminal charges or outstanding warrants (to include driving under the influence);
Why is it so hard to get a Global Entry interview?
Due to high application volume and a large backlog due to past closures, some Global Entry enrollment centers do not have open interview appointments for months and some locations show no available appointments at all.
