Ellijay is such an incredible place for a vacation. It’s proximity to Atlanta and Chattanooga make it the perfect vacation destination. Vacationers can drive to those cities for sightseeing opportunities within an hour but return to the peace, quiet and beauty of the incredible Blue Ridge Mountains.
Is Blue Ridge or Ellijay better?
My take on the two towns is that Ellijay is more “Americana Heartland” feeling and Blue Ridge is a touch more upscale. Both have quaint little downtown areas. If I were going to move to one place or the other for a MTB focused retirement, I’d choose Ellijay. There are just more trails closer to town.
