A Summons is a notice that says there is a lawsuit. A Complaint is a form that says how the person was hurt, who hurt them and how much the damages are. A Civil Coversheet tells the court about the type of case you are filing.
How is a summons served in California?
§ 415.10 A summons may be served by personal delivery of a copy of the summons and of the complaint to the person to be served. Service of a summons in this manner is deemed complete at the time of such delivery.
How do I respond to a summons in California?
